Ps- There are NO OCEAN VIEWS, despite what they say, from most (maybe all) rooms. So basically if youre late middle age and a pristine beach is not a big deal, this is a wonderful little getaway. Very rough/coral sand, inaccessible to 1/2 of the resort and massive ugly sand bags and cement blocks thrown out into the ocean the entire resort across. If the beach is a big deal to you, DO NOT COME HERE. I love a soft white sand beach with an undisturbed view of the clear ocean water. Another thing is that my partner and I are in our 30's and this place was basically for 50-70 year olds. They do offer a credit in this case, but even though the room was a downgrade (it was gorgeous still) I stood my ground and they miraculously came up with a room right in the middle of the place. Now some negatives: When we arrived they had overbooked the hotel and were going to give us a downgraded room furthest away from eveything. (Ive had some very mediocre experiences at other all inclusives) Even the most basic rooms are amazing and the bars and spa area were awesome! (Joshua gave the most amazing massage!) I cant believe I actually enjoyed the food as much as I did. The grounds were gorgeous, the employees were wonderful and hard working. Ill explain: The hotel has a personal feel as it has no high rise buildings. We really liked our stay at this hotel and would recommend it highly in MOST cases. Bottom line is this resort is ill equipped to deal with Covid I don’t know if it was incompetence of the staff or just a lack of care by the resort but it was inexcusable how we, and presumably many others, were treated. In all of my trips to the desk to get answers we found that other guests in similar situations were getting the same run around that we were. We were offered no insight by the staff, the only answer we got was that a manager was contacted about our situation. What followed was equally disappointing as our countless questions and attempts to get help and guidance were ignored. We were mortified when we checked our emails 6 hours later (when they told us we would have our results) when we found out she was positive. We were scarily able to keep going about our vacation using amenities and going to restaurants. We didn’t check our email to see the results for 6 hours, and no one called our cell phones which we provided or even left a message at the room. First of all, no one even made an attempt to contact us regarding our positive result. It made what would have been a relaxing vacation a anxiety riddled stress fueled nightmare. My Girlfriend received a positive test and it seemed that the resort both didn’t care and also wanted to offer us any support in the next steps that needed to be taken. The resort was great, until it got to Covid-19 protocols. I am very disappointed in my experience with El dorado seaside suites.
